Most of the Flora and Coral is also located near these, alongside Lithium and Rubies. Gasopods can be found, alongside their eggs, near the several hydrothermal vents in this biome. These leviathans and the PDA summary of the biome heavily discourage players from entering the biome. It is also home to many dangerous types of Fauna, the most notable one being the eight Reaper Leviathans that patrol the open spaces of the biome. The Dunes features vast, sandy plains and dunes, sometimes littered with various types of rock structures. One of the five Sea Emperor Juveniles can be found here after the Sea Emperor Leviathan Eggs have been hatched. Spoiler alert: The following section contains story related material.Ī Sanctuary Cache can be found within the meteor crater.Īn Alien Vent Entrance Point is found in the Dunes. This biome also harbors a large crater from a meteor impact, which can be found close to the border with the Northern Blood Kelp Zone. The Dunes Caves are found within along with a Cuddlefish egg, located right in the center of the sinkhole. Another two, smaller wrecks are also found in the Dunes near the Sea Treader's Path border.Ī large sinkhole can be found southwest from the larger wreck. One can be found near the Northwestern Mushroom Forest, having seemingly slid down the sandy dunes from the forest. If a Gel Sack grown from a grow bed is knifed, it will split into four separate Gel Sacks that cannot be interacted with.To solve this, save and reload your game, craft it into aerogel or die to reset your inventory to a previous stage. There is sometimes a bug where, upon eating a gel sack that has been in a grow bed, it will become a ghost item and, although it still takes up inventory space, cannot be interacted with.Gel Sacks are always found at the base of the giant Mushroom Tree in the Northwestern Mushroom Forest. ![]() Gel Sacks spawn on the underwater slopes of Mountain Island, including shallow waters near the beach.A good source of Gel Sacks used to be the Safe Shallows trench by the Aurora, but Gel Sacks there have since been removed from that location.Occupying the same amount of space, four Gel Sacks provide +20 Food and +16 H20 and 980 Energy. For comparison, a single Marblemelon occupies a 2×2 space and provides +12 Food and +14 H20 and 420 Energy. In terms of space, Gel Sacks provide the most Food and H20 and Energy in the Bioreactor of any Flora.The Gel Sack was originally called the Jelly Plant, and later the Spore Sack.However, they only occupy a single spot in the player's inventory, allowing for many to be carried at once. Gel Sacks are unique among edible flora species in that they do not rot while in the player's inventory, making them a viable food and water source for longer trips, but they do not provide much food or water individually. ![]() ![]() It is a good idea to establish a growbed for gel sacks, as Aerogel is used in several high-end recipes and the plants are fairly rare outside of deep regions. There is a bug using this, as hitting it with a knife twice, putting it in the inventory, and hitting it again will give you infinite amount of spores.Įither item can be planted in an Exterior Growbed. Extracting Spores from a Gel Sack has no effect on its qualities as a raw material or food source if it is picked up. Up to three Spores can be collected from a single Gel Sack in this way, with the Sack being destroyed by the third strike. A Gel Sack gives one Spore per knife strike. It can be either picked up or harvested for Gel Sack Spores by using a Knife. It is usually found attached to the walls of deep caves. The Gel Sack is an edible flora species that can also be used to craft Aerogel. ![]()
